High school is a time when you should be yourself. So I really don't think we should have to wear uniforms. Not being able to wear our own clothes is a lack of freedom of expression. We have always been told to express ourselves. The way we dress is another way of finding our place in the world. So if we all we know is uniforms its going to be harder to find our place. Not to mention all the extra money needed to be spent.
Not being able to wear what we want is not fair. They should not be able to just change the rules when ever they want. Young adults often express there feelings through clothes. So by saying we cant wear whatever is like saying we cant express what we feel. And were always being told to express who we are. How can we do that if we have to wear uniform? Teachers and other adults are always saying we live in a free country. Well then why don't they let us wear what we want.
There is another issue of cost of the uniform. Not all families can afford to buy uniforms. Also parents would still have to buy regular clothes for when were not in school. Because uniforms have no use out of school. Making Parents spend way more then they need to.
Uniform is not a very good way to cut down school violence. Student could still find ways to hide ans bring weapons to school. A better way would be if parents would pay a little more attention to their kid. Making sure there not doing dumb things. Not all students should be punished for what only some kids are doing, that's really not fair. If a student were to do a crime other students would not be able to describe what that student looked like. All because everybody else in school is wearing the same thing or pretty close to it.
Many educators and experts believe that uniforms should improve, behavioral, and social outcomes, in reality they do not. These experts argue that the studies of schools who have uniforms do not report that it helps in any of those areas. So then if it does not help why make us wear them? Why does every one make a big deal about them?
